I’ve started reading one of the books I got for Christmas Hiding the Elephant by Jim Steinmeyer, its a great book about magic that I found by accident on amazon..

I’ll probably take it with me to Boston and see if I can through it on the plane…

I rarely get time to read books (unless they are reference books) however I got back into reading in mexico last year (well 2002 so the year before last now!) and realyl enjoyed just working my way through novels, so I’m going to make a definate effort to read more books this year, especially some of my extensive collection of old and rare magic books I’ve built up over the last 10 or so years

Well after last nights successful install of Moveable Type, a great application. Things didnt go quite as well with interfacing my phone with my new blog..

A catastrophic perl compilation error.. :( oh well… back to the drawing board. I’d like to get it working before my trip to the US next week, if only to say I did it…

I’ve spent the evening watching ‘Most Haunted Live’ a quite amusing program on livingtv. The general idea is that a bunch of ’spook hunters’ head out and look for.. well spooks…

This time they were looking for the spirit of Dick Turpin, the imfamous highwayman.. The interesting thing is, for us anyway is how the mediums kept coming up with ‘little known facts’ and things that couldnt possibly be found… such as names of people hung at the tyburn in york. One of these names was a Eugene Aram, whos name came up in a ‘tracncelike’ state during the program. apparently nobody could find this information out, in fact the shows researchers spent ‘days’ finding this little known name..

funnily though.. thanks to google… ‘york+executions’ brings up a complete list of all the executions in Britian since 1606 on the second page of the results..

Funnily enough.. theres our Mr Aram half way down the page!! difficult huh ?

They didnt read out our email with the url to the website on the program..

thank heaven for google huh? :)
