minor problem is that I havent implemented all icons yet and Internet Explorer doesnt see the .PNG transparency colours correctly on some of the icons…

Well today was interesting… 8am meeting in waterloo to discuss a client.. and then locked in a hotel room until 8pm working on documents for the same… I’m physically knackered..
on the way home from paddington to Reading, I noticed a great example of where technology just ‘goes bad..’
Paddington, London 8:48pm
Spot the man at table opposite smiling, pimping his bluetooth card, laptop and mobile phone.. with that insane grin thats saying…
‘watch me answer my email on the move..’
He lays out the gizmos on the table very neatly and starts to connect.. glancing at his password pager he picks up the current password for this login, and attempts to connect…

Slough 9:15pm
Gizmo man at table opposite is not smile so much know… I think this is now his seventh or more attempt to sign in… I saw that look of pleasure about 5 minutes ago when he thought he’d done it… but then we hit the tunnel and wham… end of connection… poor guy hadnt even got his password in that time!!
close to maidenhead 9:20pm
not so smiley man is now going for the ‘hardware’ fault… he’s pulled out the pcmcia card and is blowing it.. not sure if hes dusting it off or cooling it down..
.jpg)
sat at signals outside Reading 9:27pm
Hurrah he did it!! the look of pure pleasure on his face as he saw lotus notes fire up and start syncing his mail… only to work out he’s 30 seconds from his destination!!
getting off train at Reading 9:29pm
and me ?? I snapped him, edited my blog and then uploaded it as i was walking to the exit on the train…

Tomorrow I have a box booked at the Royal Albert Hall to see Cirque De Soliel’s Dralion I’ve gone every year to whichever show they are touring Europe with.
Even though the Royal Albert Hall is a great venue for Cirque to perform in, nothing compares to seeing them perform in the Grand Chapiteau (the Big Top).
Although different to a ‘traditional’ circus, Cirque really is the best troop in the world. mixing opera, music, and circus together into something you have to see to really appreciate just how good it is..
It takes me back as well to the many nights I used to sit in the caravans of circus performers after the show, drinking tea in the middle of the night, as they talked and packed up their equipment… the smell of parafin from the fire breathers and the dim glow of the lights from the big top..

ThinkGeek has a new item that kinda appeals to me
a collection of Plush Microbes.
I think Shigella and Rhinovirus (stomach ache and common cold) would look particularly good on my desk..

Pixar has annouced that they are dumping Disney as their sole distributor from 2006 onwards.. this means that The Incredibles and possibly Cars will be the final films under the Disney banner. This is a great move for Pixar since disney get all the rewards and acclaim for films that really they had nothing to do with. The five major full Pixar films have earned over $2.5 billion..
good luck to Pixar!!!
