Ok, call it tempting fate and actually trying to break your BlackBerry.. but I’ve worked out that pretty much any J2ME application will work on the BlackBerry, at least as an OTA (over the air) install.. Installing a .jad from the desktop is a little more tricky and needs to be converted into a .cob file first..

Most, if not all JAB files install perfectly ok onto the little black wonder. I currently have an RSS reader, and now a blogAPI client as well. SSH (secure shell) clients also appear to be out there as well..

Unfortuantly, in the case of the blogAPI, and I’m not sure if this is a GPRS connection issue or something else, but I cant hit the XML rpc service on my server to push content into the API. In fact as far as the J2ME client is concerned its all a bit dead there.. The only thing I get back is a 400-bad request message from the webserver..

I’ve also managed to test giving the little sucker a full frontal lobotomy as well (clearing the whole device back to factory state!). You have to love it…
