So yesterday I was an Ascential employee, today I’m effectively working for IBM.

IBM is to Acquire Ascential Software to extend its leadership in helping customers integrate, structure and manage information.

Bottom line? IBM today announced they have entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the equity of Ascential Software for a knock down price of $1.1 billion or $18.50 per share.

This share bit is the only bit I’m really not overly happy about.. I’ve just lost a huge amount of money is vested stock..

But on the upside I will now work for the IBM data integration group, my group (IBM software) just grew to about 38,000!!

There are lots of opportunities I think in IBM, hopefully I can stay in the key Data Integration Area.. time will tell..

However if anyone does want to offer me that dream job…
