So this weekend is Womad 2006, and unlike last year, it should be pretty hot and sunny. Womad 2005 was great, and I’m glad I didnt miss it, even if I only spent a single day there, Hopefully this years going to be great too, I’m not going alone this time, and I’ll be spending most of the weekend kicking back, sunning myself and enjoying the atmosphere, We’ve already set up a Womad 2006 Flickr Group, which should start filling up with photos over the weekend with shots of the festival.

Weirdly I’m taking a weeks holiday exactly the same week as I did last year, but this years holiday will be spent at FISM 2006 - Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques (International Federation of Magic Societies) in Stockholm, Sweden. The World Championships of Magic will run all week through to August 5th, it opens in the very same place where the Nobel Price dinner takes place each year.

Besides the World Championships competitions with more than 100 acts, there are some world class performers never before seen at FISM. The FISM convention provides more events and shows that you can shake a stick at, an opening show, a Super Gala Show and the Grand Prix Gala, lectures, workshops, close-up shows, special events and night magic events.

Pretty much everyone in magic is attending the 6 day convention, and its going to be an all-you-can-eat magic soiree, the only downside is that I’m probably going to end up completely buzzed up on magic again, and will come back with far to much stuff I probably don’t need!!!

The MacBook and the Camera are coming alone, so hopefully there should be lots of piccies, a bit of blogging and a few hangovers..
