IMG_4439.JPGSo it was hot, seriously hot yesterday at Womad. So I didn’t take that many photos, I’ve uploaded some to flickr already, but one of the plus points off the festival is always the food.

There’s pretty much every variety of food and taste available over the site, and this year they’ve put up a taste the world tent in which some of the artists show you their favorite dishes. Its also a place that can teach the younger children about cooking, good ingredients, good taste and the benefits of healthy food.

On our travels we found Pieminister - Delicious home made pies, with mashed potato and gravy, they are probably the best pies I’ve tastes, and hey! they deliver!!!

Pieminister started in 2002 when Jon Simon and Tristan Hogg teamed up and started a pie business, mainly fueled by their travels to australia and the nasty excuses most UK companies put out as pies. So Jon and Tristan decided the British public ought to be given what they deserve.. a really good pie made from proper stuff.

Pieminister now has a proper pie kitchen (PMHQ) filled with chefs and bakers, and their pies feature on many great menus in pubs and restaurants across the UK, and even eaten by the Queen..

All their pies are still hand made, and inspected by Jon and Tristan before it leaves Pie HQ..

There may be a danger of another Pie today… Our personal favorites so far are; Chicken of Aragon: Chicken, smokey bacon, roast garlic, vermouth and tarragon; and Thai Chook: Chicken, thai green curry, sweet potato and lime..

You can call Pieminister on 0117 942 9500 before 12 noon Monday to Thursday, and they will deliver fresh, chilled home made pies to your door the next day..

..go pie!!!
